Conference Program Chair-Elect |

The Annual Conference Program Chair-elect of the National Council on Family Relations serves a two-year term, one year as Conference Program Chair-elect proceeding to Program Chair the following year and planning the annual conference program for that year.
- Member of the Annual Conference Program Committee.
- Select the Conference theme no later than spring of the year before the conference.
- Select a theme from topics which are frequently discussed by the media and the public, studied in both research and applied fields, and of interest in the city/state/region in which the conference will be held.
- Select plenary speakers for Conference - due by summer the year before the conference.
- Solicit ideas from members who are on the Conference Program Committees.
- Speaker criteria:
- Well-known expert on topic.
- Excellent public speaker.
- Solid research base on topic.
- Will make application of research.
- Reasonable speaker fee.
- Work with Conference Director to prepare the call for abstracts for the conference.
- Write articles for the NCFR Report.
